Isola delle Api is in Fercole, close to Petriolo hot thermal springs, half way between Siena and Grosseto.
Guests enjoy a pool, a river with cold and hot water, woods, wine, beautiful landscapes, pure natural olive oil, beaches, historical sites; fluent English and French are spoken: we understand (manage to speak) German.
The house is divided into two indipendent apartments: both are fully equipped (gas stove, fridge, dishwasher, etc.): the tiny mini (35 sq.m. kitchen, bedroom, bath) is enjoyed by a couple; the larger one (110 sq.m.) is perfect for six guests; groups, or families with children, prefer to rent the whole house and accommodate up to 8/10 persons
A wide (48 sq.m), well furnished living room with kitchen area, dining table, fire place, tv is the center of the house: in summertime the living space is expanded under the pergola.
3 double bedded rooms and 2 bathrooms are upstairs.
Pets are welcome; the garden and the pool (4 X 8 meter wide, 120 cm deep) are for exclusive use of guests.
Isola delle api is your self-catering holiday house: in nearby villages of Pari (3 km) and Casal di Pari (1,5 km) you find restaurants, pizzeria and small shops, in Paganico (12 km) there is a bank (with cash dispenser for credit cards), shops, pharmacy and a big-enough shopping centre. Some of the best Tuscan wines (Brunello, Montecucco, Vernaccia, etc) are produced in the area, as well as olive oil, cheese, meat which you buy from local producers. In summer you may dine, in most villages, under the stars at a “sagra” tasting local specialties such as “tortelli”, mushrooms, snails and plenty of wine as well.

In Italian, we say “dolce far niente”, which means “doing nothing”: it is the preferred activity of most our guests; someones, after relaxing by the pool, go and relax to the seaside, many choose cultural/historic/art tours, all of them enjoy the weather and the landscapes of Maremma.
Bathing in hot water (40°c) in Farma river at Petriolo is a must: you may also enjoy thermal treatments in the fitness center (www.termepetriolo.it)
Isola delle Api is an excellent starting point for your “discover Tuscany” holiday. In less than 1 hour drive you reach the seaside and choose your own beach: the sophisticated and exclusive Punta Ala, or the romantic Cala Violina, or the unspoiled beaches in Maremma Natural Park, or Monte Argentario and its unique sea views; sandy beaches in Principina and Marina di Grosseto are preferred by families with children.
Art and antiquities lovers have a very wide choice within easy reach: from Etruscan tombs in Sovana, Tarquinia or Vetulon
