The agriturismo Agricola Casentinese, was in ancient times, the last host place for travellers and pelgrims directed by feet to the Sanctuary of La Verna. Huge estate of more than 300 hectares grazing fields and bushes at the border of the National Park of the Casentino Forests, province of Arezzo. The farmhouse has all around large green areas, grazing fields, bushes, swimmingpool with panoramic vieuw over the valley, children playground , stable with riding-track, cowhouse, fence for the donkeys and a bush for the pigs. Futher not very far away from the main building, under the shadow of the trees, we offer also 8 fully equipped camper parking places.
The agriturismo is not very far away from the main road, where you can find a busstop and can be reached easily by feet. The central position of our agriturismo gives art and culture lovers the possibility to visit in the surroundings the Sanctuaries of La Verna and Madonna del Sasso, the historic villages of Bibbiena, Poppi with the beautiful castle formerly owned by the counts Guidi. At short distance the hermitage of Camaldoli inside of the National Park with his medieval forests and pharmacy, the Roman church and castle of Romena, historic villages like Stia and Pratovecchio, the castle of San Niccolo' and the Etruskan findings of the little votive statues in the lake degli Idoli or the Etruskan altar near the church of the village of Pieve a Socana. |
Services | The farmhouse offers confortable rooms with 2-3-4- beds and nice apartments with 5-6 beds. All units have private bathroom, TV and are furnished with "poor" tuscan furniture. We can offer our guests, B& B stays with sweet and salty buffet breakfast or half board stays, enriched by a restaurant with typical tuscan cuisine, with a 5 course dinner ( from antipasto up to the sweets) based on our own meat, fresh vegetables from our kitchen-gardens and home-made cakes prepared fresh every day. In the main garden we serve, upon request, in the nice seasons along with the breeze of our sea pines light rustic and genuine snacks/ lunches.
The apartments have kitchen- livingroom, fireplace and vieuw on the valley. Inside of the building a restaurant , little country bar, TV room and a large hall to relax, read or chat. On the second floor we have a large rustic hall very suitable for birthday or anniversary parties, meetings or courses of all kinds.
