The Alfieri Family, Lords of San Martino, wove their name inextricably through the history of Italy's Piedmont region. Today Emanuela, Antonella, and Giovanna San Martino have renewed the historic wine cellars with modern technology while maintaining the traditions of wine-making at San Martino Alfieri. The Marchesi Alfieri wine estate with its historic cellars is located amongst the heights in the Alfieri Castle in San Martino Alfieri. The esteemed Barbera d'Asti is the jewel of the estate's production. . Recently, rooms within the estate have been restored to welcome the enthusiastic wine tourist that can admire the rows of grapevines as they rise and fall on the undulating hills. The Locanda is located in the courtyard of the winery only a few steps from the wine cellars. There are two private suites and three others recently-refurbished within the Locanda. The rooms are furnished with antiques and seasoned oak floors. The suites feature private entrances. Within the castle's private park sits a quiet isolated farmhouse named Margherita. The farmhouse enjoys breathtaking views over the hills and villages below. Margherita is perfect for small groups seeking privacy and would be appropriate for family or corporate retreats. On the ground floor is a breakfast room, kitchen, one bedroom and bath, and a salon with veranda. The upstairs contains three bedrooms with baths. All rooms are decorated with antiques. Adjacent to the house is a "limonaia," which houses potted lemon trees in winter. There isn’t restaurant service moreover the area offers a good selection of restaurant starting from some friendly local restaurant which are a walk distance from our estate to some of the most important restaurant .
